Habitat for Humanity of East Jefferson County’s planning team met with community members on Dec. 12 at the Jefferson County Public Library in Port Hadlock to update the community and listen to input for the planned affordable housing development that will be located on a 17.12-acre parcel in Port Hadlock-Irondale.

The 17-acre community is intended to include 140-170 homes, to house a wide range of families and individuals, who live and work in Jefferson County. Two firms for project management and architectural design were introduced, to help lead the design and planning efforts for a “permanently affordable,” mixed single and multi-family community in Port Hadlock-Irondale.

Habitat EJC has scheduled a second public planning meeting for Jan. 18 at 5 p.m., to solicit the community’s input on conceptual alternatives for the housing project. An online option will be available, please email info@habitatejc.org for login details. Read more in the The Leader article published on December 13, 2023.
