Work continues this winter!

This winter HFHEJC will continue construction on the 19th Habitat house in Jefferson County, with a planned completion date in early April. Volunteer work is currently on hold for the holidays, and will resume in January. The home is in the “Habitat neighborhood” on 21st Street off of Sheridan in Port Townsend, and will be home to Francisca Lanphear and her six children.

Update on Street Installation

Work is complete on the 20th and 21st Street Installation Project in Port Townsend. The street and utility extensions provide access to six Habitat lots. Two of the 21st Street homes were completed in October, 2009 and the third is slated for completion in spring.  Funding for the project was provided by HUD’s SHOP program through Habitat for Humanity International; Washington State’s department of Community Trade and Economic Development through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to the City of Port Townsend; and local document recording fees channeled through Jefferson County and managed by Olympic Community Action Programs.
