Construction News for 2011

Local and out-of-town volunteers continue work on four houses on Eddy Street in Port Townsend. This affiliate has never built four houses in one year and the levels of enthusiasm among the volunteer crews are wonderful!
Two of the houses are slated for completion in November; the other two in early 2012.

This year we have added more "green building" features and all four houses will be Northwest Energy Star certified. The increased energy efficiency translates to lower heating costs for Habitat families.

We invite you to join a volunteer crew on Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday, from 9-4. Please call the office, 360-379-2827, to register, or email volunteer@habitatejc.org.

Whether you are completely new to carpentry or an old hand, we have room for you!

Construction is at the heart of Habitat's mission. Community volunteers work side by side with our partner families to build homes while also building friendships, confidence and hope. Businesses and building professionals pitch in with donations of materials and skilled labor.
